Day 20: Seattle, WA

Good morning, friends!

I LOVE SEATTLE! It's like Portland, San Francisco, and Burlington, VT all wrapped into one. Yesterday I did my favorite thing - wandered around the city aimlessly. First I wandered around their neighborhood for a little while. There's this store, Archie McPhee's, that words can't even begin to describe. Has anyone else been there? I got some great gifts there and even got myself a pretty rad pencil case.
Then I made my way to downtown. It was an exceptionally clear day so there was a spectacular view of Mt. Rainer and the Olympics. I took the bus downtown and went to Pike Place Market, the best farmer's market in America, and possibly the world. I had the best nectarine I've ever tasted and perused multiple used book stores and quirky toy stores, all with a lovely view of Elliot Bay. I also got some really great presents for people.

Then I met up with John and Kelly at their place and we went to the airport to pick up their friend Sarah and her boyfriend, who were on a layover on their way to Glacier National Park. We went to dinner at this hilarious little Thai restaurant near the airport that John and Kelly had been to once before when they first moved here. The food was awesome. I really should've taken pictures of the place because the decor was by far the best part. It looked like a really weird wedding reception. There were chandeliers, elaborate place settings, fancy mismatched linens, motel-style art. Like I said, I really should've taken some photos. Sorry about that.

After dinner we dropped Sarah and her boyfriend off at the airport and went back to John and Kelly's. Then we went to this really cute ice cream shop near their house called Molly Moon's. That took over an hour, because the line was long and super slow. When we left, however, the line extended down the block, so we were lucky to get in there before it got too crazy.

After ice cream, we went back to their place and watched a few episodes of Entourage and This American Life on their projector.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do today. I think my main objectives are to go to the Experience Music Project and taking a driving tour of the city with John. We'll see.
